WP 4: Training
Objective
The main objective of the DENSE consortium is to promote and educate a new generation of young scientists with an outstanding capacity to succeed and lead at the highest international levels in different scientific, business and social scenarios with a focus on Smart Energy Systems (SESs). The DENSE doctoral training programme for the recruited Doctoral Candidates (DCs) is therefore designed to fulfil five main training objectives through four main training blocks.
Each DC is expected to
gain high-quality, in-depth theoretical and practical knowledge in the general areas of: planning, control, optimization and data analytics for SESs;
develop a deep and thorough understanding of their core research topic as well as in interrelated areas and subjects, so that they become independent researchers striving for innovation, excellence and discovery;
obtain the ability to transfer their acquired results and innovations into applications and (closer to) market mature products, which could lead to patents or results with far-reaching consequences;
cultivate the practice of networking intersectorally and internationally with colleagues in the area and with those whose fields could bring more wealth to their own;
grow their communication skills and questioning spirit in different professional and societal environments.
